H2O

Photobucket

One of my original 101 goals was to quit to drinking soda and other sugar filled drinks. However this is NOT the easiest thing to do, but I have to. It is unhealthy and I don't need to consume it to survive. It is an addiction.

I found this research to back up my goal.

"5% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.
Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back, and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?"

So are you??

My plan is to fill a gallon pitcher each night and my goal is to drink one each day, but I might start a bit smaller ;)

My list is alive and well...how can it stay that way?

Photobucket

I am trying to brainstorm how I am going to keep myself accountable for my list. It is very helpful that a couple other close friends of mine are also creating their own 101 list, but I can still see the potential for me to fail at my own.

At the moment I am beyond excited to embark on the goals I have set but I know that I often get enthusiastic about new ideas only to see them fizzle to nothingness. So what ways can I stay proactive in completing my list?

• Blog daily about my progress
• Post my List in areas I will see it daily for a reminder
• Post my picture of the day on the blog
• Get family and friends involved in doing their own list for motivation
• Just imagine about all the great things I can experience and finally do!

I think those are a couple great ideas to keeping my list alive! Do YOU have any you'd like to add?

One down, 100 more to go!

Happy New Year!

Photobucket

I expect that all of you had a wonderful and safe New Years Eve!!

Today is the start of a new year and the day that I embark on my list. I have already started one of my goals, which is to read 101 new books. I was given The Time of My Life, by my sister for Christmas and thought it would be a great one to start with. I am just over half way through with it and hope to complete it in the next couple days.

I will be adding a list of books that I intend to read on the right hand side if any of you are interested in reading along with me! Feel free to share if you do!

I am so excited for this new year and can't wait to see all of the new things it brings along with it!!
